His owner is facing serious heart issues and will be undergoing major surgery, leaving her unable to care for him. Her college-aged kids are out of the home, so this gentle giant needs a new place to land.<br/><br/>Stan came to us as a puppy and has grown into a joyful, easygoing companion who loves people, veggies, and playtime. He’s about three years old, neutered, house-trained, and knows all his basic commands — even hand signals. In true Pyr fashion, he sometimes likes to “think it over” before responding, just to keep things interesting.<br/><br/>He gets along great with other dogs and has lived peacefully with cats and kids. Stan’s enthusiasm for life means he can get a little excited at times — he just loves being part of the fun. He’s both food- and praise-motivated, and if you offer him a crunchy carrot, you’ll be rewarded with a full-on happy dance.<br/><br/>Born without kneecaps, Stan doesn’t let that stop him.
