Stan's Story

Meet Stan!

Sweet Stan is finally getting his second chance at life. This adorable 5 year old Miniature Poodle weighs approximately 12–15 pounds and is hoping to find a patient, loving forever family that will show him the kindness he has sadly never known before.

Stan is a breeder release dog, which means he spent his entire life living in a kennel and being used only for breeding. He was never treated like a beloved pet, never experienced the comfort of a home, and never learned what it feels like to truly be part of a family. Because of this, Stan is understandably very shy and fearful with new people and unfamiliar situations. Dogs like Stan simply missed out on the socialization and love every dog deserves.

Despite his difficult past, Stan is such a gentle, sweet little soul. He just needs time, patience, and compassion to help him realize that the world is no longer a scary place. We know that with the right family, he will continue to blossom more and more every day.

Stan absolutely loves other dogs and truly needs another friendly, confident dog in his forever home to help guide him and make him feel safe. He also does well with cats. Because he is not leash-trained and still nervous outdoors, a securely fenced yard would be ideal for him.

Stan is looking for a calm, quiet home without children, as sudden movements and noise can be overwhelming for him. His ideal adopter will understand that trust is earned slowly and will give him the time and space he needs to adjust.

Stan is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will come with a health certificate prior to adoption.

After spending his whole life without love, Stan deserves a forever family willing to show him patience, security, and unconditional love. Watching a dog like Stan learn how to be happy and loved is truly one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable.

https://www.livefreerescue.com/adoption-application
