Spumoni's Story

Fierce is that look....but so NOT fierce is Mr. Spumoni who seems to be perfecting his GQ look for this photo. Hello handsome! Spumoni is a young adult Dobie who sports the stunning steel
gray and tan coat that is always so eye catching. He weighs about 53 lbs now but is definitely underweight and believes more burgers and fries need to be on the menu. Spumoni seems to be relatively unfazed by other dogs
and likes to explore independently but has done great sharing space with some lady friends. He has a nice energy level but is still young and will definitely do best in an active home that will go, do and include him in everything. A gentle boy whose coat with flourish in a home with TLC and whose spirit will warm everything in that home, Spumoni is ready to bring his good looks and great attitude to suburbia ASAP!
*Sleepover Feedback: "He is a very peaceful house guest and rarely barked during his entire stay with us. He often would follow us from room to room around the house to check in on us! He is highly observant and smart. This boy loves being outside! He was always so eager and excited to go out for walks and he absolutely loved just hanging out on our screened porch. Spumoni does very well in his crate. He was perfectly content to use it as his safe space to lounge, rest, and sleep. We had no accidents in the house.
*Additional feedback: "Spumoni loves to be rubbed behind his ears and when you try and stop he leans in to ask for more. After a full day here he got really playful running around the yard, he is very active. I loved it. He is so gentle when you give him a treat too. He is just such a sweet, curious boy.
**Hiker feedback: " He was tentative on our walk. Yes, he was a fast walker, but listened to cues like "with me" "leave it" "nope" and eventually we got into a good flow. He figured out my pace, and stayed with me with average/controllable pulling. Sometimes, when I would stop or say "with me" Spumoni would jumped around (like 180) and check on me, come in for a head pat, then would continue on when I directed him to. This really showed me that he will be a fantastic companion.
**Additional info: " He has good energy (but not too much), and loved the hike, interacted with the other dogs and hikers some but enjoyed doing his own thing.

Saving Grace Animals for Adoption's Adoption Policy
All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $395.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. Our Adoption Request Form can be completed online at our website at https://savinggracenc.org/adopt/. An Adoption Request Form is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home. Sending an Adoption Form does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. If you'd like to donate to help cover the cost of care for these wonderful dogs awaiting new homes, please visit the donate page on our website at https://savinggracenc.org/give/donate-now/. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
