Sprinkles's Story

Meet Sprinkles Approx 1 year old, 5 lbs Adoption fee: $300 Sprinkles came to our rescue from a shelter after being surrendered from a home with more than 25 Chihuahuas. Understandably, she was very apprehensive around people at first. It took two days before she felt comfortable enough to let her foster mom hold her—but once she did, her sweet personality began to shine. Sprinkles is a gentle, loving girl who is still learning to be confident. In her foster home, she has a human dad, three human siblings, and several small dog friends. While she gets along with everyone, she has definitely chosen her person—her foster mom is her favorite! She loves giving her foster mom kisses and is slowly learning that the other humans in the home can be trusted, too. Sprinkles loves to play! She enjoys her toys and works very hard to convince the older dogs to join in the fun. She gets along well with all of her canine friends and would thrive with a confident, friendly doggy companion who can help show her the ropes. She is doing well with potty training and stays quietly in her kennel when her foster family is away. Because she is still uncomfortable wearing a collar or harness, Sprinkles will need a securely fenced yard in her forever home. Sprinkles may need a little extra time, patience, and kindness to fully come out of her shell, but we know there is a loyal, loving companion waiting to blossom. Once she learns that she is safe and loved, she will undoubtedly give her forever family her whole heart. Small Chance Rescue's Adoption Policy

In order to be considered as an adopter from Small Chance Rescue you must: • Be 21 years of age or older; • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet for the entire life of that animal; • Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord; • Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in household; • Understand that children's age restriction will be based on their exposure to and experience with this specific breed; • Understand that SCR has the right to either deny or approve your adoption application without explanation. Please note that the Small Chance Rescue Group has the following policies in place for adopters: • Dogs and cats in the adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations and the dogs must be on monthly heartworm prevention (some medical situations excepted - we will call your veterinary reference); • Applications from the Austin area receive priority in the case of multiple approved applicants for a dog. Applications from outside of the Austin area must have a positive veterinary reference and come pick up the dog in person.
