Spot's Story
Update 3/13/26:
Spot is good with kids of all ages and has had no accidents in the house since Day 1. He looks for reassurance from his foster mom during thunderstorms but is okay if he can be near her. He has traveled to Virginia a couple of times with his foster family, and they say "he was a perfect angel" in the car and in his "grandparent's" home, chilling in his crate and had no accidents. Spot looks forward to his nightly sniff walks, possibly his favorite activity. He tolerates his foster dog brother, but does get annoyed by his higher energy, so probably would prefer a calmer forever fur-sibling.

HISTORY
Spot is an energetic 12-yr-old boy, and has an adventurous spirit that can sometimes take over his brain and clog his ears! You have to admire that in a senior boy! He takes full advantage of the doggie door at his foster family's house and loves to explore the yard.

Spot was great in the bath and loves treats but can be a picky eater, possibly due to his change of environment. He loves car rides, his evening walks, and seems to handle social situations and pet store shopping like a pro!

WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.

If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.

Adoption fee of $ 310 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue.

We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible.

Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
