"Spitfire" (nickname)'s Story

This adorable girl was found stray, no collar or anything, in the middle of the highway, almost hit by a truck, and finallu rescued by some good people who took the time to get her to trust them enough to get a slip leash on her.

When she wasn't claimed after the 3 day hold at the kennel they took in her to try to give her a home.

They have done everything to get her healthy, spayed, and vaccinated etc. They nicknamed her Spitfire for now due to her spicy personality.

She was good with their dog most of the time but on a couple of occasions became aggressive over treats and toys so they have been keeping them separated now as they don't want their dog to get hurt.

She was just spayed in August so a couple of more months can help hormones calm down.

She would do best as the only pet in the home or possibly with the right owner/s familiar with dogs that can be dog-selective or reactive/triggered over treats/toys she may be ok with another dog but she is not good with cats for sure.

She is still young and has some energy so she would do best with older children or in a home that can work on excited jumping and other training right away if that is a concern. An active person or family would be wonderful for her.

She most likely had been used for breeding in a druggy home and then abandoned, so it's no wonder she needs some work. (vet thinks possibly 4 times and shes only about 4 yrs old)

She needs a person or family who can give her the time and attention she needs to thrive. She simply doesn't know how to be a happy dog, she was never given the chance to learn all the good stuff

In the right environment she will thrive. She is a smart, adorable, loyal, sweet and affectionate girl who just needs a chance.
