SPECIAL NEEDS - Cricket

Cricket is a brave and sweet SPECIAL NEEDS Toy Fox Terrier was saved by a local vet when her owners wanted to euthanize. She is approximately 1 year old and still has a wonderful quality of life. <br/><br/>We suspect that Cricket has cerebellum hyperplasia, a neurological disorder that causes her to be unsteady on her feet, tremor some, and cause some vision impairment. She still sees well enough to get around but has some depth perception issues. <br/><br/>What Cricket requires - Cricket requires a home with patience and time. She is very playful and loving but takes time to warm up to a new environment and new people. She requires an adult only home. She is not super confident walking on hard flooring, so would prefer carpet or rugs. She would do well in a home with another friendly and playful dog or solo. She currently plays with her foster fur siblings and cuddles on the couch with her foster mom. <br/><br/>Because of her disability, Cricket does not walk well on a leash and is not an apartment type dog. She will require a home with a fenced in yard and because of her small size (roughly 6lbs) someone will need to be out with her at all times. Cricket is also not able to do stairs. <br/><br/>Cricket is not a pup for just any family. She will take more work than a dog without her disability and will likely require more veterinary care. It is vital that she is established with a veterinary office immediately in her new home. I can promise you that if you have the time, patience, and ability to care for her that she will more than repay you with love and funny antics. <br/><br/>Cricket is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. All Midwest dogs are required to be on year round heartworm prevention. <br/><br/>Her adoption fee is $400. Applications can be filled out at www.MidwestSmallBreedRescue.org.
