Sosha_(now_Josie)'s Story

We received inquiries from a lot of great potential adopters but one really stood out as a better fit for Sosha's shy nature and that was a family from Michigan. On Friday-the-13th (April), Sosha joined a family with a Dad, a stay-at-home Mom, two sweet, little (human) girls and a friendly Labrador 'Big Brother'. We hope she thrives amongst all the love in her new family.

Meet SOSHA!

Sosha is a sweet, soulful, sedate, somewhat shy, little sistah. When you first meet her, she holds back & is very timid but with time, she warms up & then becomes willing to sit in your lap & snuggle. She loves to play with stuffed animals. She subscribes to the notion that 'stuffed animals' are so named because she is meant to pull the stuffing out. Her favorite toy is a plush Quail (ahem, she sorta took its wings off and likes to carry it proudly in her mouth.)

Her ears are so perky, they look like pigtails. And when she runs outdoors, her tail carriage is high like a prancing pony. It's a treat to watch her scamper & play outdoors.

As of April 1st, she's about five months old (No April Foolin'). She & her (now adopted) brother Bexley were pulled from a dog pound February 3rd. They needed medical care & socialization. They received both. Sosha continues to get daily play workouts with humans & dogs alike in a foster home with benevolent adult dogs & younger pups. She is learning excellent play techniques like how to dog pile properly. The puppies half her age like to tussle with her. Sosha is pretty good with them.

Sosha is definitely a mix-breed from mixed breed parents. She will likely fall into the category of a smaller-medium sized dog when fully grown. We actually think she looks a lot like a hybrid dog called a 'Cav-A-Mo' (although we don't suspect she really has any American Eskimo in her bloodlines.) Here's a link to see examples of those dogs:

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/c/cavamo.htm <r>
(Look at Buoy, the Cav-A-Mo --doesn't this dog look like Sosha?)

Sosha was spayed on March 26th. She's been fully vaccinated including the one year rabies vaccine. She's been dewormed & de-flead too. Her housetraining process is coming along nicely but will need continued positive reinforcement from his adopters. She's already learned 'Sit.'

A reasonable adoption fee of $145 is requested in order to offset her medical rehabilitation & spaying costs. An interested adopter will also be asked to fill out an application.

If you would like to know more about Sosha, email Erin care of:

UnderdogS2U@yahoo.com

Thanks for visiting Sosha's Bio.
