Sophie (your new BFF)'s Story

Sophie is a 1-year-old French Bulldog looking for her forever home after a rough start to life. She came to us after being found stray with cherry eye and a hernia and has since had all of her vetting completed, along with two surgeries to correct everything. She's feeling great now and is ready to be adopted! Although her eye may never look perfect, the cherry eye has been repaired and she is much more comfortable.

At around 26 lbs, Sophie is a bigger Frenchie girl with an even bigger personality. She's friendly, social, and loves meeting people. She does great with kids and has truly never met a stranger. If there's someone nearby willing to pet her or say hello, Sophie is all in.

Sophie is whip-smart and eager to learn. While she may not know many formal commands yet, she is attentive, food-motivated, and ready for a family that will enjoy teaching her new things. She loves exploring the world around her and would be thrilled to join her family on walks, adventures, road trips, and everyday outings.

She is house trained and doing well in her foster home. She is not destructiveunless you're a stuffed toy, and then all bets are off. Sophie gets along with other dogs, but she can be a little bossy at times, so slow introductions are important. She would do best with a laid-back dog companion or as an only dog. She is also good with cats.

Sophie is a wonderful middle-of-the-road Frenchie when it comes to energy. She enjoys activity and adventure but also knows how to relax and settle in the house. She's very people-oriented and would love a home where someone is around most of the time. She does not like being crated and doesn't enjoy being left alone for long periods. She's happiest when she's near her people and involved in whatever is going on. In fact, she's an excellent work-from-home coworker. While her foster mom works, Sophie is content to nap on the floor or curl up under the desk, patiently waiting for the workday to end.

With her fun, goofy personality, intelligence, and affectionate nature, Sophie is going to make someone a truly wonderful companion.
