Sophie's Story

Meet Sophie, a smart, loyal, and loving 3-year-old shepherd mix! She has a friendly nature, is eager to please, and walks, playtime, and training sessions are her favorite. Sophie is affectionate and loves being around people, making her a devoted companion. Sophie can sometimes be selective about her doggie friends (especially with small dogs) and may do best as your one and only. If you have another pup at home a meet and greet is recommended. Sophie has been patiently waiting for her forever family since early December. She’s more than ready to trade kennel life for her forever home.

Around the shelter, Sophie is cherished by volunteers as a sweet, well-mannered soul. She’s not just a 'good girl'—she’s a scholar! Sophie is known for her impressive repertoire of tricks and her consistently impeccable manners.

A Volunteer Perspective – A Day Out with Sophie
My husband and I recently took Sophie for a Doggy Day Out, and it showed us what a devoted companion Sophie really is. She checks in often with her people, walks with a gentle grace, and soaks in every new scent with a wagging tail. She is very smart and proudly shows off her mastery of sit, down, and shake. After a quiet afternoon of exploring, Sophie surprised us with a burst of joyful zoomies in the yard and loved being gathering up and playing with all the toys. She is a happy girl who is just waiting for her second chance. I know she will make some lucky family very happy.
