Sophie 's Story
Sadly, Sophie’s 1st adopter passed away and her recent trial period with a family revealed that Sophie isn’t ideal for a family — she’s clearly most comfortable with a woman but could be compatible with another dog too.

Sensitive but with an endearing cheeky streak, Sophie exudes happiness. Her antics will keep a smile on your face too! Sophie is an affectionate soul who loves giving kisses.

Sophie loves her big yard and playmates. She will wrestle and chase her foster buddy Alfie at top speed around the yard. She’s always the last to follow foster mom inside when playtime is over. Sophie’s natural love of companionship, independent as she can be, means she soon scratches at the door to say “ready now!” Then she greets everyone as though parted for days.

Sophie’s clever too — she’s figured out that looking back and forth from door to foster mom and giving a yip will get the door to the privacy-fenced yard opened.

Sophie’s beautiful double coat must be brushed thoroughly at least weekly to avoid mats. Professional grooming is not essential but may be helpful given the denseness of her coat.

Sophie loves carrying around a few favorite over-sized stuffies and Benebones but has no interest in chasing balls or toys generally. She loves watching the activity in her neighborhood. She also loves leaping into your lap every chance she gets for a good cuddle!

If you would treasure this loving dog and can commit to providing a devoted forever-home where her health and happiness are priorities, please complete an application for Sophie!

My Profile
Age: 4 years
Weight: 27 pounds
Good with kids: No
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Unlikely, high prey drive
Fenced yard: Yes
House trained: Yes.
Barks when left alone: Sometimes
Training: Basic, more training advisable

Meet Me
If you are interested in Sophie, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application.
