Sooner's Story

COURTESY POST

Hello - I am still looking for a home my foster husky. She is about 5 years old. Her name is Sooner. I’d prefer to find someone to adopt her, but a foster will be ok too. I’m trying to avoid the pound or a bunch of different fosters.

📍Located near Durango, Colorado.

She is so sweet with me.

💚 I can put my hand in her food dish no issues.

💚 She is a silly and wiggly when she plays.

💚 She knows commands like “sit”, “come”, leave it”.

💚 Walks well on leash.

💚 Kennel trained. Goes in on her own.

💚 Has a decent recall (needs some work) but she doesn’t seem to run away from people she trusts. Just may wander if she gets an opportunity (always come back when called).

💚 Potty-trained (although she has had a few pee accidents). I don’t think she knows how to ask to go outside.

💛 Unsure if spayed. She has a very large (we think benign) tumor on her vagina. Funding in progress. Plan is to remove tumor and then spay.

💛 She needs to be in an only pet home. She resource guards and I’m not sure if the tumor is actually causing it to be worse. But for her safety (and other pets), it’s best for her to be the only pet.

I am willing to drive her to the right home. I was hoping this would be a foster that tuned into an adoption but I have too may pets and it is stressing everyone out. And not a fair life for anyone right now.

I just can’t take her to the pound and not feel horrible every day. But it’s really not working anymore and I really need help. I’ve posted in so many groups and have not gotten many responses.

I’m looking for any resources that can get me closer to a home for her.

Please contact Heather at (970) 814-9532 for more information.

Thank you for reading ❤️🐾
