When she first arrived, she was timid, scared, and wary of humans, seeking only to escape. But now, a year later, Sonya is unrecognizable in the best way. She’s running, playing, and happily socializing with her dog friends at the kennel. And when visitors come, she eagerly approaches, seeking love and affection.
Sonya’s happiness shines through in everything she does—from her wagging tail to the way she moves from person to person, soaking up all the love she can. It’s nothing short of amazing how far she’s come, and we are beyond excited to help her find her forever home.
Sonya is ready to be your little love bug, and she deserves a home filled with patience, love, and care. Could you be the one to give this sweet, affectionate girl the life she’s been waiting for? Please open your heart and consider giving Sonya the forever family she truly deserves
Backstory:
In June 2023, Watchdog conducted a raid on a notorious slaughterhouse in Cheonan, infamous for its brutal and inhumane methods of animal slaughter. The conditions within the aged facility were nothing short of devastating. Both dogs and goats showed clear signs of severe malnutrition. Food and water bowls were filthy with old food scraps. A thorough investigation by Watchdog uncovered substantial evidence of the harsh conditions and animal mistreatment within the facility. This evidence led the authorities in Cheonan to intervene and the owner was forced to relinquish ownership. Among them, nine dogs were rescued by CARE.
