Snow's Story

Hey world! My name is Snow.

I’m a 5-year-old, 13-lb white Shih Tzu with lots of spunk packed into a small, fluffy body. I’m incredibly sweet, love playing with toys, and I’m great at entertaining myself and inviting my humans to join in the fun. I am a tennis-ball-fetching fiend and very energetic. Belly rubs are one of my favorite things, I enjoy going for walks, and car rides are a blast—especially when my ears get to flap in the breeze. I’m affectionate, playful, and truly a one-of-a-kind little guy.

My story has a sad chapter. I ended up at Forsyth Animal Shelter as a bite case after a child picked me up and didn’t respect my boundaries. Because of that, and because children make me uncomfortable, I need a home without kids where my space will be respected. The shelter environment was overwhelming for me, and I was scared and anxious there. However, once I arrived at Faithful Friends (and after a much-needed grooming session!), my true personality came shining through. I’m back to being the spunky, adorable, affectionate boy I was always meant to be.

The humans at the sanctuary, the groomer, and the vet all said I am handleable and have picked me up multiple times with no issues, however I have had a couple of incidents with unfamiliar people at the sanctuary. I just need to have set boundaries that are respected and a good amount of decompression time.

I play nicely with other dogs and have been polite and curious when around cats.

I’d be a wonderful match for an adult household with experience managing moderate behavioral challenges in a rescue dog, who is looking for a small companion with a big personality and a whole lot of love to give!

I am up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, have been dewormed, am heartworm negative, and am on heartworm preventative.

**Important**

The cost to adopt is $250 and the adoption process begins with an Adoption Application that is located at: www.faithfulfriendsnc.org/adopt

Once your completed application has been reviewed the humans will contact you with questions and/or set an appointment for you to meet me. Thank you! Please read all guidelines before sending in an application. Do not reach out to the sanctuary about the status of your application, we will contact you if we are interested in setting up an appointment.

Basic requirements include up-to-date vet care for current/past pets (Rabies, Distemper, annual exams, heartworm prevention for dogs), safe housing, and a vet reference check from all clinics used in the last 10 years. Renters must provide landlord approval. First-time adopters ages 21–25 may need additional info. You must apply for a specific animal and complete the application fully.
