Snoop's Story

Meet Snoop – Your Future Best Friend ?

Snoop is a 15-month-old Standard Poodle, born in April, 2024.
-

Snoop is a happy, adventurous boy, but his excitement got the best of him - while playing with another dog, he had a little too much fun and broke his leg in December 2024. The best option at that time was going for surgery, where they put metal a plate between his ulna and radius. Unfortunately, two weeks after surgery the metal plate broke. Snoop ended up having his leg straightened up into the right position, it was then splinted for 6-8 weeks in order to avoid amputation. His vet worked closely with his family to check and re-splint every two weeks to save his leg. After months of careful care, his splint was removed in April 2025, and Snoop was slowly re-introduced to short leash walks until he fully regained his strength.

Snoop has now received a go-ahead to run, play, and swim within reason .

He would do best in a responsible, loving home with somebody who is able to monitor and take care of his needs. While his leg has healed, the bone didn’t align perfectly, this can cause him some mild discomfort. Currently leading towards long term pain management, with monthly pain injection that his new family will most likely need to continue. If the plate will cause irritation in the future, removal may be required.

?

Personality & Temperament

Snoop is a kind, gentle, and patient soul, But don’t let that fool you; he’s also excitable and full of love.

Snoop adores cuddling on the couch and will absolutely want to sleep in bed with you at night. When you come home after being away, he’ll greet you with joyful paws and wagging enthusiasm—there’s no mistaking this dog’s love for his people.

Snoop gets along great with dogs, cats, and children.

Snoop loves walks, playing, and especially swimming. He has lots of ocean experience and even had his first creek adventure recently!

He loves being near his person, happily following you from room to room. When left alone, he may whine a little at first, but he settles quickly

Snoop would do best in a loving, active home where he can be part of the family.
-

Anyone would be lucky to have Snoop as their loyal companion!

If you are interested in filling out an adoption application and learning more about Snoop, please email marmaladecatrescue@gmail.com
