Snickers's Story

Born approximately 8/8/21 Snickers, Snicky, Snikster, Snickity Cricket etc. put the wig in wiggly. He gets so excited when you get home that he screams his vocalizations to let you know how happy he is that you’ve returned. He’s the perfect mix of high and low energy, up for just about anything like a long walk but just as happy to stay home and hang out in the back yard or napping. Snickers is potty trained and crate trained (doesn’t love the crate but tolerates it and will sing his lamentations when you leave) he loves kids and other dogs of all sizes and has shared space with cats and had no issues other than he loves to eat their food if given the chance. While he likes other dogs he will growl a warning if they are infringing on his nap space, however, he responds well to a firm no or knock it off. Snickers tends to gobble his food and if given the opportunity will help himself to the cat’s food. When snickers first joined the rescue he wore a belly band as he would occasionally mark his territory indoors. This issue has resolved itself. Snickers is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He’s ready for a person or family that will commit to be his happy ever after – he wouldn’t mind being your one and only or to have a canine companion. A secure fenced yard is required and if there are children in the home, over the age of five is preferred. Applications for Snickers can be found at: www.mikeyschance.com

Once you have been approved to adopt a dog we will gladly arrange for you to meet any dogs that are potentially a good fit for your home. We carefully review each application and place dogs based on a variety of criteria. Ultimately, we will always act in the best interest of the dog. We will conduct a background check on each adult living in the home. We will contact your vet. Mikey’s Chance also conducts home-checks to assure the best possible placement of all our rescue animals. PLEASE NOTE: It is our policy to only adopt to homes where the current pets: Are up to date on vaccinations; Have been either spayed or neutered; and Have received routine veterinary care. Applications that do not meet this policy shall be denied.
