Our goal is to find the best possible match between dog and human. We believe the best way to do this is by openly sharing information. We disclose everything we know about our dogs, and in return we seek to know everything relevant about our adopters. Our thorough, painstaking adoption process ensures that when our dogs go home, it really is forever.
Mikey's Chance is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue organization based in the Tri-Cities, Eastern Washington. We help dogs in need within our community, responding to appeals for help from private individuals, other rescuers, animal control authorities, and veterinarians.
All our dogs live in foster homes, where they are loved, socialized, cared for, and taught how to live as integrated members of a family. Most of our foster homes are in the Tri-Cities and Greater Seattle areas, but we place dogs in homes throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Our dogs are sterilized, treated for parasites, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated prior to adoption. Many also receive other urgent vet care.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please visit Mikeyschance.com to find out about our adoption procedures.
We do not have a central facility where you can meet our dogs, because they are in foster homes. Once you have been approved to adopt a dog we will gladly arrange for you to meet any dogs that are potentially a good fit for your home.
We carefully review each application and place dogs based on a variety of criteria. Ultimately, we will always act in the best interest of the dog.
We will conduct a background check on each adult living in the home.
We will contact your vet.
Mikey’s Chance also conducts home-checks to assure the best possible placement of all our rescue animals.
PLEASE NOTE: It is our policy to only adopt to homes where the current pets:
Are up to date on vaccinations;
Have been either spayed or neutered; and
Have received routine veterinary care.
Applications that do not meet this policy shall be denied.
