Meet Snap
ADOPTION MEET PENDING !!!
Snap (named after the card game) is a 2 year old white and tan terrier/Dachshund cross who came from a kill shelter in California. He is 10 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 15 pounds. Despite his short legs, Snap can jump incredibly high. Good fencing and a career in agility should both be in his future.
Snap has been working through a lot of old PTSD, and he will need a patient adopter who is willing to keep up the good work. He is house and crate trained, walks beautifully on and off leash (hiking), rides quietly in the car, and gets along courteously with all other dogs. He is NOT a barker.
BUT he is shy with new people and needs slow intros, so no young kids (just in case). Snap is highly affectionate and enthusiastic with the folks he knows, but he still does NOT want to be picked up by anyone. Fortunately since he jumps so mightily, that is not really an issue.
We are looking for a 2 dog home - adopters experienced in dealing with a fearful dog - and a decent level of daily activity. This guy has hiked the Coast range here in Oregon and the back country of Montana! He is a really good guy - just please don't pick him up!
Snap is in foster care in Portland. His adoption fee is $200.
