We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. A physically fenced in yard is required to adopt her.


Take a look at Smudge, an absolutely gorgeous 10 month Great Pyrenees and Retriever mix girl. Smudge weighs in at a whopping 85 pounds (so far), but that just means there is more of her to love!.

Smudge is a total smoosh and loves to be pet and is friendly with everyone she meets! She is great with kids (her foster has a two year old). She is very dog friendly and lives with 4 other dogs at her fosters house. She is making progress with cats and learning to respect their space, though we think she would prefer a cat-free home.

Smudge is very loving and will seek out affection. She likes to lean on you in the hopes that you will love her up. She has a fun playful side and loves to run around in the yard and play with the other dogs. She will need to go to a home with a physically fenced yard.

Smudge is completely housebroken and crate trained. She sleeps quietly and soundly in her crate at night. She has been working on learning some basic commands. She comes when called, has learned to sit, and is working on learning down. She is very food motivated and takes treats gently. This will make it very easy to continue her training. She also loves to go for walks and does pretty well on a leash.

If you are looking for a big sweet fluffy girl to love, Smudge could be just the dog for you!

She has not yet been spayed. She would be going to her new home under an alter contract. Adopter will need to get her spayed within 3 mths of adoption and provide proof of this to the rescue.

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
