We take time to connect with potential adopters to better understand their lifestyle, household, experience, and what they are looking for in a companion animal. Based on that conversation, we share recommendations to help identify the best fit for both the adopter and the pet. This process helps improve long-term success and reduces the likelihood of an animal being returned during the adjustment period. Benefits of adopting through Chester County Animal Control include: • Staycation Program – After selecting your “furever” pet, adopters may take the animal home for a 10-day trial period to ensure the pet adjusts well to the home, family members, and other animals. • Peace of Mind – All adoptable animals receive initial age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies when required. • Essential Veterinary Care – Animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption whenever possible. • Behavior and Health Review – Each animal’s physical condition and temperament are assessed to help support informed adoption decisions.
