Slogan's Story
Slogan is in a foster home! Please submit an application from our website and email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to see you're a match!

Scroll through his pictures to see all of his cute videos!

3 year old Slogan is cool, calm, and collected. We've loved that about him since we met him at Chicago Animal Control back in September, where he had ended up after being abandoned at a vet clinic. He was shortly adopted after and we were so happy for him! A few months later, we were walking the kennels at CACC, and we spotted the most wonderful ears that we could never forget. Slogan, once again, had lost his home when his adopter faced housing issues. We then made him a Heartland dog, and we are so happy we did.

During his intake with our medical team, our vet noticed scarring on his face, neck, and back - and could feel two unidentified objects beneath his skin. We took X-rays and couldn't believe what we saw - 3 foreign objects that turned out to be shards of safety glass. While Slogan wasn't showing signs of pain or discomfort, we knew how quickly that could change if these objects were to migrate. We scheduled his exploratory surgery, and a nice foster home provided him a stable place to rest for his recovery. Slogan has recovered from his surgery, and he is ready for adoption!

Here is what his foster parents have to say about him,
"Slogan is a loveable dog who adores snuggles. He's gentle and patient willing to let you do anything. Slogan is intelligent and knows some commands like sit, stay, home and paw. Slogan is kind around everyone he meets. He enjoys playing with his toys, people and even running in circles to chase his tail or flip around on his back. He has the heart of a puppy, the strength of an adult and a face to melt your heart."

Slogan does not currently live with dogs, but he has done well in our playgroups as you can see in his pictures and videos. Slogan is a friend to many, from puppies to seniors, he's just easy for the dogs to get along with! He does cute bunny hops to initiate play and we love the way his ears flop in every-which-direction when he is playing.
Slogan is an amazing, unique, and loving dog that will make a great companion for a lucky adopter or adopters.

Slogan's adoption fee has been generously sponsored. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
