Skylar is a sweet girl who shows all the primary qualities of the breed including a calm confidence, intelligence, strength and unsurpassed loyalty. At the same time, she can be playful and affectionate in a way that's endearing to the owner and family. Skylar is also a great on-leash walker, will gladly engage in a game of tug, and enjoys sitting on a hilltop with a staff member or volunteer simply watching the world go by.

Rottweilers were originally working dogs that would team with a handler to drive cattle, pull carts and watch the home. Given their size and working ability, Rottweilers require an experienced owner that can provide the necessary leadership and physical/mental exercise to keep them focused. They're not an ideal choice for a first-time owner, nor a family with small children as they sometimes forget their size and strength.

Skylar seems to be ok with other dogs, however, she would need to meet any other dog before going home with them. Older children (10+) would be better. Compatibility with cats is unknown, however, she does have a small prey drive that should be considered. If interested in meeting Skylar, we are open daily 12-5pm.
