Skylar Australian Shepherd & Border Collie Mix Palatine, IL

This girl trotted right out of the SCCR transport van and declared, “I am ready for my new life up North!” Skylar is a 4-year-old female Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix, and she is just the best, most beautiful girl.
 
This sweet love is calm but playful, loves playing with her toys and going on walks, and is a fast learner who is very motivated by treats. Clearly loved before, Skylar is spayed, potty trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and loves to be loved on. She’s looking for a chance to impress you with all of her great skills.  
 
While Skylar is good on leash while walking, she needs continued training to be less reactive to squirrels and other dogs. Her foster mom has been working with her and says she’s making great progress! Skylar has a tendency to get a little anxious around other dogs, so slow intros will be a must. Skylar’s ideal forever home would probably be dog-less but she would love to be surrounded by 2-legged family members of all ages.
