Meet Skillet! Skillet is a year old and weighs 34 pounds. This little fluff is so happy, curious and excited about life! She loves to explore the yard, go for walks and talk to every person she meets! She can be a tad shy at first, but give her about two seconds to warm up and she becomes your best friend right away!
Skillet is a puppy trapped in an adult dog's body! While she is nice as can be, she does need to learn some manners - just like a puppy would! She is super smart so her foster family has no doubt she'll pick up on obedience right away, it just seems that she has never been taught how to use her brains for good! She is fantastic in a crate at her foster home and has only had one bathroom accident!
Skillet is fostered with a cat, other dogs and two small children. Skillet does a fantastic job with her human foster siblings and loves her dog foster siblings, but would do best in an adoptive home without a cat! Skillet loves to play, so she would flourish in a home with other playful dogs as she may annoy an older, more relaxed pup. Skillet's adoption fee is $250

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
