Sister's Story

Sometimes the smallest dogs carry the biggest stories. Meet Sister, a precious 7lb Chihuahua who is looking for a soft place to land after a very long road.<br/><br/>Sister arrived at the Tahoka, TX shelter in rough shape alongside her best friend, Polly. She was struggling with painful flea dermatitis, was far too thin, and her teeth had seen much better days. But at Saving Grace Rescue LBK, we believe every "vintage" lady deserves a makeover.<br/><br/>We started Sister off with a full dental and comprehensive bloodwork, and we have great news: this girl is officially a healthy, happy lady! Now that she’s feeling her best, her true personality is shining through. Sister is the definition of "sweet."<br/><br/>Sister’s Favorite Things:<br/><br/>Laps: If you are sitting, she should be on you.<br/><br/>Soft Food: Now that her mouth is healed, she’s a big fan of mealtime.<br/><br/>A Soft Touch: She thrives on gentle pets and quiet affection.<br/><br/>Dog Friends: She is wonderful with other pups and very social.<br/><br/>Sister is a resilient little soul who has put her "ruff" start behind her. She is more than ready for a life of luxury, warm blankets, and constant companionship.<br/><br/>A Special Request: While Sister would love a home of her own, her heart belongs to her companion, Polly. These two have been through everything together, and it would be a dream come true if someone would open their heart to them both. <br/><br/>Is there room in your lap (and your heart) for a little Sister? Saving Grace Rescue LBK's Adoption Policy
Our adoption fee is $225 (locally). This fee goes toward the cost of our vetting expenses for the dog, which includes the dog being spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We require an application and home visit for adoption of one of our dogs. We want to ensure our dogs are placed in forever homes and are not in a situation that would be unsafe for the dog or perpetuate the misconceptions surrounding Pit Bulls. We prefer that adopters be at least 21 years old, but we will consider applicants under 21 on a case by case basis - so please still fill out an application. Please keep in mind that we know our dogs well; behavior, temperament, special needs, etc. Any decisions we make are in trying to do what's best for our dogs and the homes that we adopt them into. **If you are adopting out of state and we are sending a dog for adoption through our partner, Project Freedom Ride, the adoption fee is $500 which covers all vetting requirements and transport costs.**
