Sissy's Story

Sissy is a 12 year old black and white Shih Tzu who came into rescue as an owner surrender from Texas. The owner could no longer care for her. She was adopted into a loving home here in Colorado a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, a few months later the husband passed away and the wife was diagnosed with cancer and could no longer take care of Sissy, so she is looking for a retirement home. Sissy weighs just over 15 pounds, and she is housetrained. She can be a little barky when meals are late, but she is usually quiet. Sissy loves to wander around in the fenced in backyard and check out all the wild smells, of just lay in the sun. She is fine with the other dogs in her foster home.

Sissy is spayed, she is up to date on her vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped. Sissy was treated for bladder stones and is currently on a preventative prescription diet. She also had a dental and lost a few teeth. She still eats moistened kibble. If you would like to meet Sissy, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue,com and complete the on-line adoption application. We suggest that you print a copy of the application before you hit the submit button, just in case! We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Sissy for a visit. If you have completed an adoption application within the last 12 months, or have previously adopted from Vintage Dog Rescue and would like to meet Sissy, please let us know.
