Sir Scruffy's Story

Hello! I’m Sir Scruffy! I'm VERY food motivated - I usually take treats gently, but sometimes I get too excited and taste your fingers. I have a little bit of separation anxiety, but it doesn't last long. And when you come home I am so excited to see you that I get the ZOOMIES. I love playing tug of war, but it's very important to let me catch my breath! I am very curious, and love to sniff every corner of the house. After dinner I like to walk around the house with a toy in my mouth. I'm very snuggly, I love lap sits, and I love pets. And I will follow you all around the house (yes, even in the bathroom!!)

Great Plains SPCA's Adoption Policy
We are open for adoptions, no appointment necessary, Wednesdays through Sundays from 11am-7pm. On Monday and Tuesday, we are available for adoptions by appointment only. -We recommend (and in some cases require) that all members of the household meet the pet prior to adoption. -Great Plains SPCA runs background checks on adopters and adults in the home over 18. -Great Plains SPCA requires all visitors to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times while inside our buildings. Disposable masks are available upon request. If you have any questions about our adoptable pets, please call (913) 831-7722 or email adoptions@greatplainsspca.org. Our expert matchmakers look forward to finding you the perfect furry family member! Adoption Requirements: - Adopter must be 18 years of age or older. - For the safety and health of our animals, we do not ship pets. - Pet adoption fees range from $60 to $450. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals needing our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand.
