Sir Brimsley's Story

Sir is the sweetest, cuddliest boy you’ll ever meet. He is a little bit anxious when first getting to know you but warms up quickly and attaches himself to you right away once he realizes he’s safe and cared for. He is a young dog still so he has a lot of energy and gets excited when seeing people initially, so we are working on jumping and he is improving more and more each day. We are also working on basic commands like sit, wait, and down, and he is a quick learner. He would prefer to be out with you if possible but knows the command for crate and will settle down and rest in there after an initial brief protest. He is becoming more comfortable with the crate as time passes and hopefully he will soon view it as his safe space. Sir loves soft squeaky toys, Kong toys he can chew on, and interactive cognitive toys. He hasn’t quite figured out how to catch the ball yet, but he has mastered fetch. Sir also walks very well on a leash and does great in the car. When first exploring the home he is a curious boy and may try playing with things that interest him like house shoes or plants, but once he’s told not to play with these and redirected to a toy, he learns very quickly what is okay to play with and what isn’t. Sir is the smartest boy! Sir does not mind the rain but gets a little nervous about loud thunder. He doesn’t whine, just gets a little startled by it and wants to be near you. Sir seems to get along well with other dogs and likes all people, women, men, and children, but it is not known how he would get along with cats so a slow introduction would be best. I believe Sir would thrive most with a family who will play with him and dote on him and/or a home with another dog he can play with. Although he is house-trained and very gentle, he is still a young dog that is learning so he will need a home that is patient and willing to continue working with him on training to bring out his best potential. He will make the most adorable, loving, goofball addition to your family.
