He was surrendered to the shelter after his owner was being deported. Simba had been living on a heavy chain behind the hotel where his owner was staying before he was brought to the shelter.

Despite everything he has been through, Simba is a fun little guy with so much love to give. He is a bit unsure in the shelter environment, but he is learning and gaining confidence. What Simba knows for sure is that he absolutely adores people! He loves being petted, getting attention, and soaking up all the love he can get.

Simba had not been around other dogs before coming to the shelter, but he has been doing great and is beginning to learn how to play and interact with them. He does well in play group with the other dogs, but Simba does not do well with cats so will need a cat free home! He will likely benefit from a patient home that can continue helping him build confidence and learn all the things he may have missed out on earlier in life.

From his foster: He is a super sweet dog and is always wagging his tail and loves affection. He is great around kids and loves to be outside. He would be perfect for someone who is active. We think he is pretty close to perfect and whoever gets him will be lucky!

Simba is ready for a fresh start where he can leave his past behind and finally experience what it means to be a loved and spoiled family dog. He is a great size and has an awesome personality!

Age: 2 years

Gender: Male (neutered)

Weight: 35 lbs

Breed: Terrier mix (best guess)

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Potty Trained: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes

Leash Manners: Working on it

Good with Dogs: Yes

Good with Cats: No

Good with Kids: Yes

Simba is ready to keep moving forward and would love to find a family to call his own. If you’re interested in adopting Simba, please apply today.

www.muttlife.org

__________

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate). The adoption fee is up to the discretion of Mutt Life Dog Rescue of Wisconsin.

NOTE: THE BREED LISTED FOR EACH DOG IS OUR BEST GUESS WITH THE HELP OF OUR VETERINARIANS. AFTER ALL, THIS IS MUTT LIFE DOG RESCUE..
__________
Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply!
https://www.muttlife.org/adoption-policies
_________
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.

2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.

3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.

4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.

5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.

6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too!

**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
