Silky's Story

Everyone, meet Silkie, our latest foster! Silkie is a Lab mix, 5 months old, and about 26 pounds.

She’s been with us for a couple of weeks, and we’ve enjoyed having her. She’s a lover and gets along great with everyone. She’s even found her voice and has barked, very ferociously I might add, at cattle egrets, a gargoyle statue, and her reflection in a window. While the egrets and gargoyle haven’t reacted, Silkie is sure she’s shown them who’s boss!

Silkie tries to be a good girl, but she is still a puppy. She’s learning manners but occasionally slips up and jumps on people. She has learned Sit and Kennel and is great with other dogs and okay with cats. She crates well and doesn’t mess it up at night.

Silkie is a water dog and loves to swim in our pool with her foster sisters. She was born for the water!

She plays chase and tug with her foster sisters and enjoys running around the yard, then collapsing at our feet. Overall, she’s a really good girl who needs a little training and a lot of love.

Silkie is looking for her furever home. If you’re interested in Silkie or want more information, please go to Dante's Hope - Animal Rescue page, or you can fill out an application at: https://forms.wix.com/f/7056686760360673404
