Required: companion dog in home; fenced in yard (not good on leash); love of breed.

Shirley is a sweet, fuzzy little 5 year old female shih Tzu. She has spent the last 5 years making babies at a puppy mill and now it’s her chance to be free and have her own family. She was taken to clinic by miller and it was determined she had a belly full of dead puppies. He asked them to kill her but thankfully clinic convinced him to surrender her so they could find her help. New2U agreed to take her in and give her a chance if they could save her. She also had sepsis due to time left untreated but the amazing staff where able to save her and eventually she was able to join us.
This baby girl has been thru a lot so understandably, she takes quite a bit of time to warm up to people, so her potential adopter will have to have lots of love and patience. She absolutely LOVES other dogs; so having a dog already will be a requirement for her new home as she needs to continue to learn more socialization skills.

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
