🐾 Meet Shilo <br/><br/>Shilo's Illinois story begins with a busy stretch of Interstate 57.<br/><br/>This handsome 21⁄2-year-old Golden Retriever mix was spotted roaming dangerously close to the interstate until a kind-hearted citizen stopped, brought him to safety, and cared for him until we had room at the shelter. Without that act of compassion, his story could have ended very differently.<br/><br/>Shilo is microchipped to an owner with ties to Texas and Michigan, but despite multiple calls and text messages, no one has responded.<br/><br/>So now... it's time for a new chapter.<br/><br/>We don't know exactly how Shilo ended up alone alongside I-57, but we can guess. <br/>We can only imagine what he's been through. What we do know is that he hasn't let it steal his joy.<br/><br/>Shilo is everything you'd hope for in a young dog--playful, goofy, affectionate, and always ready to make a new friend.
