Shelly's Story
**12+ and older dog savvy children will be considered. Younger children, infants and toddlers are not a good match.**

Shelly joined our rescue after pulling her from a local animal control. Neighbors had seen her being pushed out of a vehicle and left in the middle of the road. We just can't imagine what this little girl thought as she watched them drive away. We are so grateful kind humans got her to safety quickly.

Shelly or Shelly Belly as we adoringly call her is a 12.5lb Boston Terrier mix. We aren't entirely sure what she's mixed with but something with a wiry coat. Whatever breeds she is, she sure is adorable! Her big brown eyes and scruffy smile melt hearts! We know that Shelly is carrying some previous trauma and can be very shy and overwhelmed with meeting new humans or in new situations. Once you're in her circle though, she's yours for life! This girl bonds tightly to the people she trusts. Shelly does wonderfully with other dogs and kitties and currently thrives in a foster home with several of each. When it comes to the human side of things, Shelly will do best in a quieter, low traffic home where she can set the pace. She would be perfectly content sitting in a lap all day or cuddling up on the couch...she's an introvert through and through! A small circle of great friends is more her jam! Occasional zoomies in the yard is all she needs to keep her trim figure! No crazy party nights for this little lady! :-)

Shelly is potty trained and crate trained. We think once she is comfortable in a new setting, she would do well on the couch, waiting for her humans to return. She's a mellow gal but does have the unique habit of wanting to get up on tall things to sleep...i.e. the cabinet, the back of the couch, the dining room chairs. Apparently, those are the best places to sleep and we love that quirk about her! Shelly loves treats and is working on learning basic commands. She certainly doesn't stray far from her trusty human companions though, treats or not! Shelly is an absolutely adorable girl and her whole world revolves around her people. She's pretty easy to please, as long as she's got YOU!

We believe Shelly to be around 2.5 years old. Her adoption fee includes her spay, dental cleaning, microchip, heartworm/tick borne illness testing, vaccines, dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. If that scruffy little face makes you melt into a puddle of goo, reach out to us about our cuddle bug, Shelly Belly!
