Shelby 's Story
Shelby is a 1.5-year-old, 40 lb Ridgeback/Lab mix (best visual guess) who is learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a home.

She is currently fostered with other dogs and cats and is doing well with both. Though she does not care to have them in her face. Shelby is just beginning to accept affection from her foster family—while she may still flinch when touched, she’s making steady progress and is learning to lean into the comfort instead of avoiding it. Because she can be sensitive to quick movements, a home without young children would be best.

Shelby is house-trained in her foster home and walks nicely on a leash. She’s still figuring out household manners (like keeping her feet off the counters and leaving the garbage alone), but she’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and picks things up quickly. Her biggest motivator? Food! Treats are definitely the fastest way to win her over.

As she settles in, Shelby is starting to show her playful, goofy side—rolling around on the couch and beginning to explore toys. She’s been very quiet so far and hasn’t made much noise in her foster home.

Shelby will need a patient and understanding home willing to give her the time she needs to fully come out of her shell. With love and consistency, we’re confident she will blossom into an incredibly sweet, loyal, and fun companion.

She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Shelby is ready for a safe, loving home where she can truly thrive.

Adoption App:
https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/40532/generic
