10/27/25-<br/><br/>Foster or Foster to adopt home needed!<br/><br/>Everyone welcome one of our newest arrivals, needing a little extra love and TLC. Shelby is a female ~3 yr, 17# Miniature Poodle from a puppy mill that was being overbred and underloved. This little lady has a very gentle spirit, not agressive at all, but super scared. She needs a foster or foster to adopt family to help show her the way and heal her gentle heart. She doesn't mind the current dogs in her temporary foster home, but would prefer a quiter place where she can get more one on one attention with less commotion. <br/><br/>Doing her photo shoot yesterday, we got to see the sadness and despair in her eyes but we know with a little love, time and compassion the twinkle in her eyes can return. She just needs a family willing to give her a little help getting her twinkle back... maybe yours? Due to her fearfulness, a fenced yard would be preferred so she is safe and secure. Although Poodles do not shed, they do require regular grooming ~every 6-8 weeks.<br/><br/>This little girl has been put through a lot in the past month after being rescued from the mill in KY. Let's not make her wait much longer to find a foster home <br/><br/>Due to her size, activity levels and age, foster or foster to adopt requirements are:<br/><br/>•Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.<br/>•Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.<br/>•Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams for additional care if needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.<br/>•Shelby is very shy at first so homes with older children, if any, are being recommended.<br/>• Shelby did well with like sized dogs in her foster home but we will do a meet and greet prior to letting her go with other dogs in the home to be sure there are no problems. She ignored the littles in the home, too.<br/>•Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.<br/>•Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.<br/>•An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for Shelby, if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. This little cutie was on a euthanasia list at an overful shelter in KY since her breeder was done with her and turned her in. She just arrived last night and is very scared right now, but sweet. She will likely need a few days- another week to settle in, but she could really use a foster to help her get there. Although we don't have any other information on her, we do know she deserves a life in a home. Maybe yours?
