Meet Shay!<br/><br/>Shay’s story began on the streets of Houston, Texas, where she was roaming a neighborhood known for having a large number of stray dogs.<br/><br/>A caring individual reached out for help after discovering Shay and her puppies. One of her puppies had become trapped in a culvert/ditch, and they were determined not to give up until both the puppy and his mama were safe.<br/><br/>Thankfully, the last puppy was rescued, along with Shay. Her puppies are now safe, and it’s finally Shay’s turn to find the loving forever home she deserves.<br/><br/>Shay is approximately 1–2 years old and weighs around 54 pounds. She is currently being fostered in a home with other large dogs and cats. She enjoys spending time with her foster dog siblings and has shown zero interest in the cats.<br/><br/>Shay is potty trained, leash trained, and sleeps comfortably in a kennel at night. She also rides great in the car, making her a wonderful companion for errands, road trips, or adventures with her future family.<br/><br/>After everything she has been through, Shay is adjusting beautifully to life inside a home and is ready to leave her days on the streets behind her.<br/><br/>Now that Shay has finished being a devoted mama, she’s ready for someone to choose her. Texas Bark Squad's Adoption Policy
Texas Bark Squad is a foster-based rescue dedicated to placing dogs into safe, loving, and permanent homes. Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best possible match for both the dog and the adopter. Adoption Requirements Applicants must: • Be at least 21 years of age • Provide a valid government-issued ID • Have landlord approval if renting • Provide veterinary references for current or past pets (if applicable) • Be willing to provide a safe, stable, and committed home A fenced yard is not required for every dog but may be necessary depending on the individual dog’s needs. Adoption Process: 1. Submit an adoption application 2. Application review and screening 3. Phone or virtual interview (if needed) 4. Meet and greet (in-person or virtual for out-of-state adopters) 5. Approval and signed adoption agreement 6. Adoption fee payment and placement We prioritize the best fit for each dog based on lifestyle, environment, and experience, not on a first-come, first-served basis. Adoption Fees: Adoption fees vary depending on the dog and help cover: • Spay/neuter surgery • Vaccinations (age appropriate) • Microchipping • Heartworm testing (if age appropriate) • Preventative care Out-of-state adoptions are available. Transport fees included in the total. Medical Disclosure: All known medical and behavioral information is disclosed prior to adoption. However, many of our dogs come from unknown backgrounds, and we cannot guarantee future health or behavior. Adopters are responsible for ongoing veterinary care after adoption. (Stated in the adoption contract) Return Policy: If for any reason you can no longer keep your dog, the dog must be returned to Texas Bark Squad. Dogs may NOT be rehomed, transferred, or sold to another party. (Stated in the adoption contract) Adoption Decisions: Texas Bark Squad reserves the right to approve or deny any application based on what is in the best interest of the dog.
