SHARON-jk's Story
Sharon had a rough time last summer - living for at least a week as a scared, heavily pregnant stray on the streets, and then being scooped up by a couple of scary strangers with a humane live trap (lured with cheeseburgers!). Despite all of this, she is the happiest, most joyful girl today. We don’t know anything about her history before last summer, but the vet thinks she is about 3 years old and has had multiple litters. It was clear that she had never been trained or properly socialized, and her health had been neglected. Now that her health is in great shape and all of her puppies have been adopted, it’s Sharon’s turn to shine!

Given her breeds (per Embark: 30% mastiff, 24% pitbull, 18% bulldog, 11% cane corso, 11% American bulldog, and 5% boxer), she is an athletic, playful girl, and she is finally able to be a puppy for the first time in her life. Her fosters have been working with her on impulse control and spatial awareness, and she has come so far! She is responding really well to structure and routine, and even sits and waits at mealtime now. She is a fast and confident learner who is both food and praise motivated.

While Sharon loves to play and get the zoomies, she also has a super snuggly, cozy side. She’s happiest curled up next to her favorite person, quietly soaking in the moment and gazing up at them with an expression of pure love and contentedness on her sweet face. Her fosters can’t wait for her to continue her journey in a home where she can be the center of attention. They have fallen in love with her and would keep her in a heartbeat if they didn’t already have a house full of dogs!

Some of Sharon’s likes, dislikes, and strengths:

She loves car rides and is a very relaxed traveler.
She dislikes the cold but is very good at being dressed and likes to wear sweaters and coats.
She likes going for walks and is really good at being harnessed/leashed up. She is still working on not pulling when she sees something interesting, but overall she does beautifully on a leash.
She does not love baths, but she does REALLY well for them anyways! And she’s perfect for nail trims.
She is house trained, and does not show signs of separation anxiety.
When you first meet Sharon, like a lot of rescue dogs she may be shy at first, but she warms up quickly to people who show her patience and give her the freedom to be herself. Once you are in her circle of trust, she’ll love you with her whole heart. Sharon will thrive with an active person or family who is looking for a loyal, deep bond with their dog. Sharon is looking for a cat-free home without small children due to her size and energy. She may do well with another dog on a case by case basis.

Stats: Mastiffs /PBT/ Boxer mix (dna report). Spayed female, treated for internal parasites, fleas and is vaccinated. She has a microchip which we register to her adopter. Age: 3 years. Weight: 55-60 lbs Adoption fee: $375.00 (cash or credit card)

If interested in SHARON, please go to our website, www.savingpetsoneatatime.org [https://www.savingpetsoneatatime.org/dog-adoption-form] to submit a dog adoption application.

Our pets are shown by appointment if the application reflects the desired home.

Thank you for considering a recue pet!
