Shamus's Story
Shamus, also known as Schmoo, Shay, and Fluffbutt has made his intentions known. Hes looking for his forever crew.

This dog needs to MOVE. Fast, here, there, back, and repeat.

Shamus does appreciate down time on the couch with the human though, especially if a good ear and head massage are integrated into the experience.

Treats are great - the stinkier the better - crunchy cod skins are his jam

Balls, Discs (learning how to chase and catching sometimes), chew toys - he likes to toss things around on his own, but is becoming a very good fetch partner.

House-trained and kennel trained - puts himself to bed at night, and knows when to head into it when the hooman is leaving the house.

Cats? Well, aren't they the most interesting things! He is interested in them but would be fine in a home with a dog-savvy cat.

Other dogs? Currently living with a senior border collie, and he does fine with her (albeit a little too rambunctious for her at times). He wants to be the centre of attention in most situations. Not a lot of exposure to same-energy-level playtime with other dogs to know more yet.

Shamus has not really been around any children. He gets a little overexcited when he sees and hears them from a distance. He may enjoy playing with older kids that understand a bit better what he needs and how to interact at his level.

The outside of the house/yard world can be a little overwhelming for our friend Shamus at times. A more rural lifestyle might end up being the perfect fit for this country bumpkin versus the fast and furious urban vibe he is currently hanging out in.

This dog really does have so much potential to be that dog. He has come leaps and bounds towards getting to be a dog, and.. now he needs the place to land.

If you feel that Shamus could be a great match for you, please complete an adoption application. Adoption fee is $450 and this includes their core vaccines (DA2PPV, Rabies) deworming, health checks and spay/neuter, as well as any care required. All finalized adoptions come with a free 6 week trial of pet insurance with Pet Secure.
