Hi, I'm Shammy-a 32-pound Australian Shepherd mix with a sweet soul and plenty of love to give. I may be a senior gentleman, but I still have a spark in my step and enjoy staying active. Right now, I'm feeling a bit anxious and tend to pace while I take in my surroundings. I haven't shown much interest in food or toys yet, but I absolutely love affection and being close to people. Gentle pets and kind words go a long way with me. Fast movements, especially near my face, can make me nervous, so I appreciate calm, patient interactions that help me feel safe and secure. <br/><br/>One of my favorite things to do is explore the world through my nose, sniffing every interesting scent I come across. Even at my age, I still have plenty of energy and would enjoy moderate adventures, walks, and opportunities to get outside and stretch my legs. I may need some time to decompress and adjust in a new home, but with patience and understanding, my personality will continue to shine. If I'm living in a smaller home, I'll especially benefit from regular outdoor time so I don't feel too confined.
