Shaggy and Scooby's Story

Shaggy and Scooby are a bonded pair of German Shepherds who love playing with their people or with each other. Both dogs are good boys who are always by each other’s side, being a very close-knit duo.

Scooby and Shaggy love stuffies, chasing each other and being playful bundles of energy. They also love cuddles, as well as being brushed.

These two sweet brothers were rescued from a high-kill shelter of Houston where they were a staff favorite.

Both Shaggy and Scooby are incredibly social, affectionate, and people-loving pups—especially when it comes to kids. They’ll happily lean into you for attention, gently place their faces in your hands, and soak up all the love you give. Tell them you love them, and you’ll see their sweet personalities shine right back at you. They even know a “hug” cue and will stand up to embrace you—yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds.

They’re playful when you’re around, often tussling and having fun together, but settle nicely when things quiet down, happily lounging and observing their surroundings. They’re not overly vocal and only bark occasionally, like when someone new passes by.

A yard would be ideal for them to run, play, and burn off energy together. Fair warning—they do enjoy a little digging if they find dirt!

Their bond is truly special—if one crate door opens, the other waits until both are ready to go out together. It’s clear they take comfort in each other and thrive as a pair.

Shaggy and Scooby are looking for a loving family who will embrace them both and give them the attention, playtime, and affection they crave. They’d do wonderfully in a home with kids, a yard to explore, and people who enjoy interactive, affectionate dogs.

If you’re ready to welcome double the love, double the fun, and double the cuddles, Shaggy and Scooby are ready to meet you! 🐶🐶💛

Shaggy and Scooby are 2 years old, weigh about 80 lb, both are neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated pups who are kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. They are currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home.

Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

To meet these amazing pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com

Their adoption fee of $400 each include all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a high quality collar, harness and leash.

Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.

Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Save Some Souls's Adoption Policy
Once a pet is ready for adoption, we place them online. Potential adopters must fill out our application form, which is mandatory before meeting the pup. Once processed, the potential adopters and fosters are connected to share more info about the pup. After the application is approved for meet and greet, the potential adopters coordinate with rescue to meet the pup. For an in person meet, we require a copy of the drivers license to be sent to us for verification. Out of state adopters are able to do a facetime meet with the pup. After the meet, we take notes from our fosters for final decision. If the foster feels the pup and the adopter are a great match, then we move forward with homecheck. Homechecks are in person or via video apps like whatsapp or zoom or facetime, Once all works out, we send our contract and fee invoice, and schedule pick up of the pup, either in person or via transport, if out of state. All our pets are fixed before they are adopted, no exception. If your application is approved for adoption, but it is not appropriate for the pup you applied for, we would offer you the right match or direct you to a more suitable rescue group who may have the right pups for your lifestyle.
