Meet Shadow!<br/><br/>Shadow is a female, Australian Shepherd born September 2024. Shadow is deaf, and partially blind, which makes her uniquely different but such a special, sweet girl. She is happy and playful, loves her toys, and loves to run - but could also be someone’s sweet couch potato!<br/>She needs a little extra time to settle in and get comfortable to new surroundings and does best with a predictable routine. Once she warms up and is comfortable, she is the absolute sweetest girl. <br/><br/>She can be reactive if startled or doesn’t feel safe but redirects well and never tries to be aggressive. She loves to go outside and will require a fenced yard or strict leash walking. She loves a walk and walks well on a leash! She is doing well in her crate, and even naps in it. She does well with other, calm dogs that play easy and won’t startle her. <br/><br/>She will need an attentive, patient owner since she learns different than a herding dog! She is a very sweet and gentle natured girl. The world is just a scary place for her so she needs time to process new introductions and new things. She's very playful and loves running and playing with toys. She also loves to wrestle and play with doggy friends that she's comfortable with! <br/><br/>She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and monthly preventatives, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of her care while in foster. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
