Shadow's Story

- Currently in boarding and could really use a foster home!
- BIG boy weighing in at 100lbs on intake!! Although it looks like he’s lost some weight, he still has a little way to go
- Absolutely loves humans and always has a big smile on his face when he sees someone! Very friendly, cuddly and will give kisses.
- He had a dog intro to evaluate and did pretty well overall! He is not good with dominant male dogs, but this isn’t unexpected – the one he met was pretty in his face trying to be in charge, and Shadow did not like that at all. We stopped this interaction before it escalated.
- Shadow met an older female and male husky and he did great! They sniffed each other a bit and all went right back to what they were doing – no growling or reaction at all from him. He should have no problem with other dogs that are respectful of his space.
- He also met a younger, energetic, submissive male dog – when this pup got too much in his face trying to play, Shadow did give warning growls to tell him to back off and give space. Thankfully this pup knew boundaries and left Shadow alone after that, so they were fine together, but a more energetic dog is not the best fit for him.
- No small dogs or cats based on prey drive
- Has shown a tendency to resource guard toys and bones, so we recommend an adopter with experience with this and older kids 12+ who understand how to read dog behavior only. Shadow does not have a bite record.

Foster Shadow: https://azhuskyrescue.com/foster/
Adopt Shadow: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
