Special Needs Senior for Adoption!<br/><br/>Shadow is a 12 year old, maltipoo who weighs about 14 pounds. He has a long history of flunking out of families and is on the hunt for his furEVER home! <br/><br/>Shadow is very reactive to cats and other dogs and is looking for a home where he will be your one and only. He is little but very active. He still enjoys long walks and may be most successful in a home with a fenced in yard. Shadow has bitten a couple people as he is can be testy and irritable. At other times, he's a little angel! Shadow needs a new parent who will provide him with routine grooming and who is also willing to invest in behavioral support if needed. <br/><br/>If you have a big heart, lots of patience and the desire to change this little guy's life, we would love to tell you more about Shadow.<br/><br/>A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Shadow, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! <br/>Augusta Dog Adoptions is a foster-based, 501c3 nonprofit, rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
