Scrappie - LOCAL's Story

Meet Scrappie -- a big-hearted, soft-souled gentleman who's ready to be someone's one and only. 🤍🐾

With his mostly white coat and handsome brindle patches, Scrappie turns heads -- but it's his loving, loyal nature that truly steals hearts. After surviving life on the streets of Mississippi, he proved what an incredible family dog he could be, living happily with a mom and older kids. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he's now searching for a forever home again.

Scrappie adores people and thrives on companionship. He's best suited for a home with adults or kids 10+ who understand his gentle ways. Little kids can be confusing for him, so he's happiest without them.

He prefers to be the only dog -- and honestly, he's more than enough love all by himself. 💕 The good news? He's already house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on leash, and is very food-motivated, making him easy and fun to work with.

While he may be entering his "distinguished gentleman" years, Scrappie still enjoys walks, attention, and plenty of couch snuggles. He's also made huge progress overcoming past separation anxiety and is now calm and confident when left alone -- no medication needed.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who's already done the hard work and just wants to be loved, Scrappie could be your perfect match.

Name: Scrappie
Breed: American Bulldog Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 9 (approx)
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to date
Heartworm: Negative on last testing
Microchipped: Yes

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Children: Over 10
Good with Dogs: He cannot live with another dog, but has no problem seeing other dogs while on walks.
Good with cats: No

Adoption Fee: $300.00

Location of dog currently: Connecticut

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if needed.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
