Scout's Story

Scout is scouting out his new forever home! He came to us on some unfortunate circumstances... he had shown up on someone's doorstep after being shot in the shoulder. Thankfully, it was a pretty clean wound and he's on the mend. Now, he needs a home that he can fully heal and prosper.

Scout is a very large, strong dog. He will need a handler that can walk him and handle his strength. He seems to get along with other dogs, though we'd recommend a proper introduction. We can cat test him upon request!

To learn more about Scout, come see us at 513 Shelter Road in Fayetteville, WV or apply online at fayettecountyanimalshelterwv.com.

Fayette County Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Those interested in adoption have the option to visit us in person or to view our animals online. Once the potential finds an animal that interests them, whether after meeting in person or online, they will complete an adoption application. The adoption application is then screened by one of our adoption counselors. If approved, we will coordinate an appointment for adoption (usually same day). If not approved, we will work with the applicant to see if there is anything we can do to assist in getting them approved before turning them away. Adopters will pay a set adoption fee. In return, they will adopt their new furry friend and will go home with medical records, a copy of the adoption contract, an adoption packet, and our contact info should they ever need anything.
