Scout's Story

Meet Scout!
Scout is a smart, sweetheart who is already one step ahead—she knows several commands! At 2 years old, she’s the perfect mix of active and affectionate; she’s a professional "shadow" who loves to follow her people and snuggle on the couch. Volunteers describe her as a very friendly, easy walker who is highly motivated by treats. Scout is a "people person" first—she prefers slow, patient introductions to other dogs to help her feel confident and at ease. If you’re looking for a loyal, clever, and loving companion, Scout is ready to meet you and start your next chapter together! Scout has not been a fan of other doggies at the shelter thus far, so a meet and greet would be a great idea if there are other dogs in the home.

Volunteer perspective: If you’re standing in front of Scout, you may be concerned (and impressed) by her jumping. The girl has springs in her feet! Don’t let that put you off- once she’s out of the kennel, she settles quickly and does well on the leash. Meet her in the yard and you’ll get a much better picture of the dog she truly is.
