Scottie's Story

*****Please note, once you complete the initial screening, you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks, and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time***********

We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Meet Scottie! This sweet and playful 1-year-old Australian Shepherd mix has a heart full of love and is ready to find her forever family. While she can be a little shy at first, once Scottie feels comfortable, her affectionate personality truly shines. She loves cuddling with her favorite people and has the cutest habit of "smiling" when she's excited - a goofy grin that's sure to make you smile too!

Scottie has a moderate energy level and weighs about 40lb. She enjoys spending time with her people, playing with other dogs, and going for walks in the park. She's still building confidence in new environments and can feel overwhelmed in busy areas, but with help from her foster family, she's making progress every day. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Scottie has no food aggression with people or other dogs, but she loves mealtime so much that she'll happily sample another dog's bowl if given the chance, so feeding separately is recommended.

While we're unsure how Scottie does with cats, we think she'd do best in a home with older or dog-savvy children since she can be a little shy when meeting new people. Her ideal family will be loving, patient, and committed to continuing her confidence-building journey. Another friendly dog would be a wonderful bonus, but it's not required. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will reward your love with endless cuddles and plenty of adorable smiles, Scottie may be the perfect match for you!

If you are interested in adding Scottie into your family, please fill out the adoption application below!

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog

**Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. **
