Scott's Story

Scott is a Bluetick Coonhound who just wants to be near people. He gets along great with other dogs, completely ignores cats, and greets every single person he meets like they're the best part of his day- no fear, no hesitation, just pure joy.

Scott spent his life on a chain before finally being picked up as a stray, so he's still learning what it's like to have a real home, regular meals, and someone in his corner. He's currently heartworm positive and the rescue will cover his treatment.

Scott hasn't had the easiest start, but nothing about him suggests he's given up on people. He's ready for a foster or adopter who can give him the time and patience to learn all the things he never got the chance to- and give him everything he needed and never had.

helplesshounds.com/foster
helplesshounds.com/adopt

Helpless Hounds Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
For a complete list of our adoption criteria, please visit: https://www.helplesshounds.com/faqs NOTE: You must complete and submit an application and be approved to adopt prior to being able to meet the dog. We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always try to select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs and try to find the best match for both dog and human. We leave a dog’s profile online until either it has been adopted, or has received several applications. We are a non-profit organization that spends our adoption fees and donations on vaccinations, surgeries, various medical tests, medicines, food and supplies needed by our dogs. Our fees do not cover the overall expenses incurred by the care of our dogs, but they do help defray the costs involved. We thank you for your support.
