Scooter's Story
Scooter is looking for a soft place to land.

This tiny little guy is around 9 years old, a Rat Terrier mix, and only about 9#. While he may be small, Scooters feelings are big, and life recently turned upside down for him after his owner was hospitalized and he spent far too much time alone in the home.

Because of that, Scooter is searching for a very specific kind of adopter: someone patient, gentle, and understanding. Someone who will let him settle in at his own pace and understand that trust is something he gives carefully.

Once youre his person, Scooters greatest joy is simply being with you. On your lap, beside you on the couch, tucked under the blankets in bed, thats his happy place. He will explore the yard a bit, but honestly, Scooter would much rather be your tiny shadow.

Scooter needs:
A quiet home
Slow introductions to new people
No young children
An adopter who understands fearful dogs and respects his boundaries

When startled or scared, Scooter can be nippy, though his foster reports this has stopped now that he's become comfortable and secure. He is also barky, so apartment life would not be a good fit for him.

Scooter is potty trained, though like many dogs experiencing major life changes, he may have a few setbacks while adjusting to a new home. Scooter is also dog and cat friendly, though he doesnt play with them.

Scooter is not the kind of dog who will thrive in a busy household full of visitors and chaos. But for the right person, someone who values the quiet companionship of a loyal little lap dog, Scooter has so much love left to give.

Scooter is neutered, current on vaccines and prevention and is microchipped. He had a major dental procedure and only has 4 teeth left. His adoption fee is $200. To meet him, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
