Scooby Doo's Story
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

**Please read Scooby Doo's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!**

Meet Scooby Doo - a 12 week old, Boxer / Shepherd mix, who weighs 33 pounds (as of 12/7/25). This handsome boy was pulled from a local shelter in Tennessee when he was unfortunately at risk of euthanasia due to over population in the shelters. Luckily, a volunteer found him on Facebook and knew we had to give him a second chance - and boy are we glad we found him when we did!

His foster shares: " Scooby Doo is the sweetest pup! He is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play with them and even just being around them. He loves toys, and loves starting a collection on his bed and will bring them over one at a time! From what we've seen so far, he is sure to be a super loyal companion who will follow his people throughout the home. He loves to be outside and in the sun. He
would be a wonderful adventure/ hiking buddy, but he’ll also crash on the couch with you. He has a decent amount of puppy energy but he handles himself really well. He really is a sweet dog that will do well in so many different situations. He walked on a leash the first time we tried and sometimes will try to hold the leash in his mouth some for fun, while it is very cute - we are continuing to work on that. He does awesome with potty time as well and I think will learn so quick on house training. He is super smart and sure to make a wonderful and loyal companion!"

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Scooby Doo , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
